Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known role is for her character, detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she won an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney was raised with four brothers. As a child she was aspired to become a court reporter. However, after graduating from high school, and moving into New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. Her first acting job was as a teen innocent as a child in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Her career as an actor has been awash with numerous television films and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. There were two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with addiction issues. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
